Wishing you the best of luck in your surgery. I do understand your concerns about looking like Mr. Ed. I have the same concerns since I'll probably have to do this (MMA) sometime soon. But I haven't heard of any "horror stories" yet. (In my case they'll do orthodontic work as well to correct the flare I have with my teeth, to bring it in to be straight and level. This would reduce the "Mr. Ed" effect). There's a post/thread below called "MMA photos?" that you might want to read.
