Good luck to you on your surgery. Given the severity of your OSA, I think that you will most likely see marked improvement - at least I hope so.

As for food and weight during this time....

Make sure that you keep your nutrition up!!! It's important for the healing process. At Stanford they gave me a booklet on 'The Blenderized Diet' and they had a nutritionist speak to me. I was told not to lose more than 10 lbs. I thought the booklet was helpful. It had a few recipes but it showed me how to increase my protein and that I could even do pasta in the blender. If you are wired shut and using a syringe, you just have to make it runnier. I used Tofu in the sauce for the protein. Be careful how much you put in the blender though - I had some pasta go around the room. Not pretty and I had to clean it up by myself.

You will be able to tell by how you feel. I didn't feel very well until I started getting soups in my. Juices just didn't cut it and I felt sick all the time.
