UPPP tonsillectomy 3 weeks post op

Posted by Chad on May 25, 2001 at 09:51:37:

Just wanted to report a success story. I have been reading the postings for 3 months prior to surgery and am very thankful for all of the information I have recieved from everyone.

I had a UPPP tonsillectomy on May 7th. Everything went as planned. Did stay in hospital overnight but was ready to go home next morning. Was truly amazed at the increased amount of oxygen that I was able to get right away. First few days were pretty sore but stayed on schedule with pain medication and was not as bad as I anticipated. Was able to go back to work after 10 days. Was able to eat just about what ever I wanted after 2 weeks.

Just a tip, my wife made me many shakes with sherbert and Slimfast or Carnation Instant Breakfast, gave lots of nutrients and filled me up pretty well, and I have lost 20lbs so far.

All in all my sleep has improved and the experience has been well worth it. I would recommend it to anyone. My sleep index was 88 and am looking forward to a new study in a few months to see the improvement.
