Hubby getting Septo/Uppp, any advice or concerns?

My hubby is schedualed to get Septo/Uppp in early June. Has anyone out there gotten this done and what was your experience like? Much pain, swelling, breathing difficulities? Please give advice on this, I am more nervous about this than hubby is!
