Fred --

Wow!

I thought there was something amiss in my own recovery. It's a relief to know that I'm not the only one with a sore nose.

I had septoplasty and turbinate reduction on May 8 (not quite 3 weeks ago), along with UPPP, tonsillectomy, and some other stuff.

My nose started to really hurt a lot earlier this week. There was one day when I felt as if someone had punched me in the face. (It's better now, but still hurts intermittently.)

I've tried using the nasal saline spray (Ocean) that my doctor recommended, but it has no obvious effect on the pain.

My pain -- when I have pain -- is mainly in my lower nostrils. I had read that the likeliest nose pain, if I were to have any at all, would be about a month of tenderness near the top of the bridge of my nose.

My next appointment with my doctor is June 4, Fred, but I'll be sure to post a message here when I have his explanation for the pain.

If you hear anything from your own doctor before June 4, it would be great if you could post an explanation here.

Good luck!

-- Gary
