Sleep apnea w/ no snoring?

My dr has told me that if you're no longer snoring, you no longer have sleep apnea. However, on many websites I have read that you can still have sleep apnea despite the fact that the snoring may be cured from the surgery. Does anyone have sleep apnea without the snoring?
