Apnea stinks?

Thanks for all of your posts and the suggestions made. As suggested - I went to a regular doctor just to get some other test done. As mentioned I have an overactive thyroid!
This could be worsening my condition or it may be the very cuase of my bad gasping bouts. I am starting treatment soon. Special thanks to gary for mentioning all those possibilities. I suggest anyone who thinks they may have apnea get blood work done "just in case" Who knows what other problem you might have?
