i suggest that you discuss the constipation issue with your doctor. metamucil is good long-term therapy but requires a lot of swallowing. perhaps not the best for a throat rooter. the doctor may recommend lactulose, a prescription laxitive, that i'm told is less addicting than some otc products. it is a liquid and only requires swallowing two tablespoons per day.
