Hello Lisa:

Thanks for posting your message here.

Yep, I'm sure many folks here can help you with your needs to become more comfortable with your new trach.

First off, welcome to the "Hole In The Throat Gang". You do not need to join anything, no dues, no obligations, we are a group of folks who have been trached and that is the only thing needed to be a part of our group. Our purpose is to let others know we are here and we all share the same things.

Actually, you can't say "no", you are already in.

I have been trached for several years with a 9mm tube, 110mm long and have had some days of being uncomfortable after the surgery too. Now, I do not even know the trach is there most of the time. It takes determination and care but you have help at home and now you need to turn this around so you will be able to tolerate it well. You will also have help from us here.

Keep posting here and I feel you will get many folks to respond to you.

In the meantime, if you want to talk privatly or have any questions just send me an e-mail using the address at the top of this post.

You take care and go straight ahead.

Phil
