surgery

I am a 29 year old female and I think I might of had sleep apnea all my life. I have always snored even when I was a baby, and I have always been very tired. Even when I was a teenager I came home from school and took a several hour nap. I fell to sleep on the bus to and from school and I even fell to sleep in class. I was not over weight when I was young. It only has been with in the last couple of years that I have picked up a lot of weight. I am 5ft 2in and 259lbs. I just found out I have sleep apnea about 6 months ago. It is very severe. I have over 160 apneas a hour, and they last sometimes up to 90 seconds. I wake up almost every day with a headack. I have been on the CPAP machine up untill three days ago when the doc put me on the smartPAP T machine. I also have problems with the masks the smallest face mask is too big and the nose mask that fits over your hole nose is too big. So they put me on the pillow mask where the little pillows goes up your nose. It hurts my nose sooooo bad and I find the mask on the floor in the morning so I still have a headack. My doc says if I don't stop taking the mask off in the middle of the night I will have to go through surgery. But I don't remember taking it off at night. Doc says I must be taking it off in my sleep. So he thought the smartPAP T would keep me from doing that but it has not work so far. Well anyway now I need to learn all I can about the UPPP and the somnoplasty with the removel of my toncels. How long does it take to recover, what exactly happens in surgery, how much does it hurt, how many days you have to spend in the hospital. Pluse there is no hospital or doc that preformes this sergery in Oregon, so I will have to go out of state to get it done. To Seattle or California can anyone tell me if they have had this surgery done in eather of these two places if so could I get the name of the hospital and the name of the doc. Thanks for listening, Tina in Redmond
