Jim and Tom or whomever

Does anyone know ... are there sometimes complications when they take to much of the soft pallet(sp)? And, anyone got a feel about having uppp, (the next three is really my question) having hyoid, GA and RF on tongue ... my doctor called this phase 2.5 and he mainly wanted to do all three just to make sure as my tongue was the problem he thought.
I really wonder how this determination is concluded as it seemed to be more of a guessamate, you know what I mean.
Any thoughts? thanks in advance.
