You are experiencing the same things that I did after my UPPP surgery. My ears did hurt off and on for a while but the pain finally subsided after about a week. You should start to notice a decrease in pain over the next several days.

I was able to go off of the codeine/Tylenol on day 10. I started lowering the dose after I noticed the decrease in pain and kept on lowering it until my prescription ran out. My surgeon said that it will take up to four weeks for everything to heal completely. Your throat will feel slightly different as the healing takes place.

I can no longer make a snoring sound; before the surgery I could do a good imitation. Have someone listen while you sleep or use a recorder to see if you still snore. My wife says I make a heavy breathing sound when I'm on my back but no sounds at all when I'm on my side.

Good luck, the worst should be over.

Pete
