They just asked me to sleep propped up in bed. The usual cautions about avoiding flat on the back, etc.

So far, since the surgery, I've not tried to use
CPAP. Given the state of my face, that might be
possible, but uncomfortable.

My perception is now that I'm waking up when the
the pain medications wear off, rather than due to
any breathing problems. Night before last I
didn't use enough narcotics; last night I was much
more careful to drug myself to what I needed.

Last night I had wonderful *long* dreams without
using CPAP; I always get lots of dreams when I start sleeping better. (normal REM rebound). This
has only previously happened under CPAP some
times; this time, it was without any CPAP,
unprecendented in the past (sleeping w/o CPAP
would cause me to feel like crap, and have a
terrible, interrupted night; CPAP would have been
fine for me if it has worked reliably for me).

I'm getting optimistic that I'll be in the
80% cure statistic for people like me for this
surgery.

Only futher time will tell, of course.
