I vomited once in the ICU: thankfully, I didn't
have mouch trouble, the nurse was able to help me
to to a position where nothing went back down the
airway.

They send you home with a set of scissors to be
able to cut your wires/rubber bands if you
start to vomit once you are out of the hospital.

You are supposed to always carry them with
you.
