I had a tonsillectomy and a UPPP. The surgery was performed on September 14. There are a number of messages on this board that go into details about the various kinds of surgeries. In my case, it took about 10 days for me to recover sufficiently so that I didn't have to take any pain medication (the pain started to noticeably decrease after 5-6 days). After two weeks, I was able to resume a normal schedule and eat most anything that I wanted with the exception of really spicy food. As of today, I feel great and my wife says that I don't snore any more! If I had to do it all over again, I would.

Good luck, I hope that you can get him to see a doctor.

Pete
