NEED ADVICE HUSBAND CAN'T STAND LOOKS OF TRACH

Posted by TAMMI on January 08, 2002 at 04:05:20:

I HAVE BEEN MARRIED TO WHAT I THOUGHT WAS A WONDERFUL MAN FOR 10 YEARS AND HAVE HAD EXTREAM OSA FROM CHILDHOOD. THE TRACH WAS THE LAST THIS LEFT TO TRY. I HAVE HAD IT 9 MONTHS NOW, AT FIRST IT TOOK SOME GETTING USED TO AND I THOUGHT I WOULD BE ABLE TO LEAVE IT OPEN ONLY AT NIGHT AND COVER IT WITH SOMETHING IN THE DAY, HOWEVER, I DON'T BREATH WELL LIKE THAT. THE LOOKS OF THE TRACH DO NOT BOTHER ME NOR DOES HAVING TO COVER THE OPENING TO SPEAK. I FEEL BETTER THAN I HAVE EVER FELT IN MY LIFE AND CAN ENJOY LIFE EXCEPT NOW I HAVE NO ONE TO ENJOY IT WITH BECAUSE MY HUSBAND LEFT ME AND HAS FILED FOR DIVORCE AND SAID, HE WILL GO THROUGH WITH IT IF I DON'T HAVE THE TRACH REMOVED. I CAN'T!!! I ALREADY HAVE HEART DAMAGE AND HAVE TRIED EVERYTHING. WHAT CAN I DO? I AM HEART BROKEN !
