6th sleep study report no sleep apnea

Posted by Patrick Richards on January 08, 2002 at 10:41:29:

I got the results of my 6th sleep study. It shows under 3 per hour and oxygen levels normal.

I am unable to tell from the data about any alpha intrusion but I do have some deep sleep which I have not had on the previous 2 studies. I got 19% or about 90 minutes of deep sleep.

Get this. I fell asleep in the lab in 2.6 minutes and my sleep efficiency is 88.9%. Also that I had rapid REM onset but I don't think I have narcolepsy as it seems to show that it took 56 minutes to get to rem.

I do have elevated co2 levels and the doctors letter stated that I have alveolar hypovenilation without sleep apnea. This might be hard to treat as the machine is what disturbs my sleep unless xyrem which is being approved
the by FDA helps.

Also my stages shifts was 153 which is pretty high since 50 is about normal.

I am starting to take a drug tonight for the alpha instrusion in case I have it as I am waiting to get a cancellation with my doctor so that I can find
out about the treatment for the alevolar and also if I have alpha instrusion.

But the two surgeries did the trick for my sleep apnea. I still have to take it easy on what I chew.

I had the GA and MMA done by the dynamic duo in Palo Alto.
