Posted by ajnot on January 12, 2002 at 19:00:09:I have started on my journey to see what I possibly have. I started in my regular HMO's office. I told her that I have been depressed and anxious and that at night I wake up not breathing, which scares me to death. I told her I didn't know if I was having a panic attack at night or what. I also told her that I had taken Fen-Phen for 2+ years and that I had wondered if that could be the cause of the problem. I went Friday for an echocardiogram. I won't find out the results of that until probably mid-week. I am scared to even go to bed at night now because I am afraid that I will die. I find that when I stop breathing that I am waking up gasping for air and sometimes it is almost like I choking on saliva or something. To me, doctors just don't work fast enough. I would like some piece of mind. Also, I have been told before that I have big tonsils and I think my uvula hangs down pretty low. I have really noticed these problems for the last year, but they seem to have gotten worse. During the day I don't have a lot of energy and tend to not venture out of my house much because of it. I also tend to stay light headed and can feel my heart beating/pulpitating in my ears and it makes me feel like my body is short circuiting.
Please, I would appreciate any kind of feedback I can receive. Anyone had this same type of problem?
