Sleep Apnea & Surgery

Posted by SleepNthrulife on January 13, 2002 at 19:50:50:

I have a question. What precautions are used with those with sleep apnea when they have surgery if you are not on CPAP? My husband has to bring his CPAP with him when he is having surgery to be put on after surgery so that he can sleep. Especially coming out of anethesia and using pain medications which makes apnea worse. What do they do just let you sleep as usual with your apnea episodes?
