The surgeon, but above all the anesthesiologist need to be made aware of the apnea. During surgery, apnea episodes will be controlled. Depending on the surgery, and probably other issues, afterward there may be several approaches. When I had surgery in April, I was on an oxygen mask in ICU for 2 days. After surgery in October, it again was oxygen at night. Good luck, but get an answer from surgeon and anesthesiologist that they have heard and understood about apnea. Tom
