Barney Rubble,

Glad to hear you're doing so well! Thanks again for the info and encouragement. Tried the scrambled eggs--mmmmmm! Heaven! Yeah, I ate pea soup, but 1)I like pea soup, and 2)it was my mother's homemade, not canned. Yesterday I pureed cream of turkey & rice soup--also very satisying (to me!). I was very happy eating tapioca pudding this morning, and tonight I made a foray into real, chewing food--linguine w/ butter and garlic. I never realized just how exhausting it can be to eat a small meal! I also tried a small meatball, but I had to wash it down with copious amounts of milk. I think that can wait a bit longer.

Dr. Shah doesn't want to give me any more pain meds; in fact, since I'm almost out of Tylenol w/Codeine, he wants me to move on to regular Extra-Strength Tylenol liquid and take Benadryl to help me sleep. I'm a little scared, but he says I'm making excellent progress, so I'll give it a shot.

I am so glad I opted to do this! Turns out that the pathology lab found I had a severe fungal infection inside my tonsils, which may never have been found out if I hadn't had them removed. Yuck!!! Good riddance!

Anyway, I'm really glad to have found this forum and I appreciate all the support out there. Take care, keep us posted, and I'll try to do the same.

Jan
