I have not had the MMA yet. I can tell you that the only way to know if you are a candidate for the MMA is to see a Dr. that is objective and knows the procedures. I have used the dental devices to some success. The MMA is much more effective at opening the airway as it moves both the bone and all soft tissue structures associated with the maxilla and mandible at the same time. The dental appliance moves only the mandible. The other issue with dental appliances is that often the effective foreward travel is negated by the open mouth position when wearing it. IE they can be one step foreward, and one step back.
