Pets and OSA

Posted by tominjax on March 31, 2002 at 06:13:11:

Is there any info on the effect of pets on the worsening of osa conditions. Pets, of course, do not cause OSA, but respiratory conidtions are often made worse
from pet allergy.
My wife had severe bronchial problems with several ER visits. She was put on a nebulizer and used it frequently. Then we had to put our dog to sleep. In a
couple of months her problems totally went away.
This is a subject that I have not seen any speculation on.
Anyone out there who have had osa related problems change after getting or getting rid of a pet?
Pet allergies are more common than many would think.
This may belong in another forum, but I think it is important to think about it.
I posted this to cpap, but it probably belongs in non cpap.
thanks
