Posted by KarenK on April 02, 2002 at 10:25:52:Hi everyone. I've been reading the boards for several weeks now, and thought maybe it was time to post. My husband is going in for a tonsillectomy/UPPP on May 17th. His sleep apnea is fairly mild, but his snoring is awful. I can count on one hand, how often we've slept in the same room in the past 3 years. He's so loud, that you can hear his snoring 3 flights up! Ear plugs don't work, going to bed before him doesn't work...getting drunk until I am close to passing out doesn't work ;) He's also tired all the time, and I'm sure it's because his own snoring prevents him from sleeping well.
So, after 2 sleep studies, and the family doctor and the ENT both confirming that he has very large tonsils and uvula, they decided this procedure would most likely help. I am so worried! I am terrified that he's going to go through all this pain, and it won't end up helping. We just really want to be able to sleep in the same bed again.
I don't really know what I'm asking, but I did want to share my anxiety, as I don't want to make my husband nervous (who isn't at all nervous). Thanks for letting me share!
