I wake up several times a night (usually starting at about 4 a.m.) in the middle of a stretch. Like a cat stretches or like a person stretches after a movie. I think that the need to stretch wakes me up, and I wake up and start stretching before I'm conscious enough to realize what's happening. By the time I'm awake enough to be aware, I'm in the middle of a stretch. I'm tensing all my muscles, then I grunt and go back to sleep.
I've been to a couple of sleep doctors, and asked some other doctors, but nobody seems to have heard of such a thing. Anybody have such symptoms? Or even heard of them?
