Yes this happens to me quite often, and just last week I had an experience where I kept thinking I had woken up, but instead I had simply segued into another dream.

Many times it is difficult for me to wake myself up when I realize I am dreaming. I usually have to "close my eyes" (in my dream) and jump or do something else that will cause my real-life body to move. Sometimes this will bring on a sleep paralysis episode.

I'm really messed up. I have a host of sleep disorders...Parasonmias, sleep terrors, somnambulism, sleep paralysis...St. John's Wort seems to decrease the frequency of the episodes, though I've been having a lot of parasonmias lately, usually when I'm just going to sleep as opposed to when I'm waking up.
