poured water on me!

Posted by mrs_helm on July 07, 1999 at 18:27:43:

Has anyone had anything like this happen or have any thoughts??
Twice now my husband has poured a cup of water on the bed while sleeping. (!!!) Neither of us understand why he is doing this. He had never shown evidence of sleepwalking or other sleep activity. He does snore and wakes frequently in the night.

He has always kept a cup of water by the bed for an occasional drink (dry mouth probably related to the snoring). But a few nights ago I awoke abruptly when the cup of water was poured on me! That time, we weren't sure how it happened. But it happened again last night - both of us got doused - and I woke just in time to see his hand holding the cup while it was still dripping. Then I watched him wake up (due to me jumping up and saying "what the ..."). He was disoriented, very apologetic, and completely disturbed by what happened...wondering what could possibly be wrong with him that he would do such a thing...TWICE. Needless to say, we have put the water further from the bed.

Anyone ever had similar strange occurances? Any ideas why it is happening?
