Waking up from sleep

Posted by Jennifer Alwi on July 13, 1999 at 08:15:06:

Two of my family members have alarms blaring at there besides but claim they cannot hear them or they hear them but they are in a "dream-like" stage and do not respond.

One member has established some control over this by getting extra rest. The other member, however, is in danger of losing his job because he cannot hear the alarm.

He must be woken by a person yelling at him or shoving him back and forth in his bed. He'll sometimes say "okay" but will not arise at all sometimes.

Is it a total lack of discipline? Other affected person says it is. I don't know though. What about apnea?
