I too used to suffer from night sweats and resultant chills. I went to the doctor who tested me for everything she had available to her, HIV included. It just kept on with no apparent cause.
I also had a urinary problem in that I had to urinate frequently.
I did some research and thought about food allergies and did a chart on what I had eaten and its relationship to the sweats. Well the culprit turned out to be carrots or more precisely the beta carotene in carrots. I stopped eating carrots or anything with carrots in it (really fussy here) sure enough the sweats went away. Then just to confirm thats what it was I ate some carrots and bingo the sweats were back. I stayed off carrots for about 6 years and then I have been able to eat small quantities without problems.
My advice - check out your food.
