Andrea,

I had much the same problem. Mine got worse as time went on. It's quite disquieting to wake up at 50 miles per hour and find that you're the driver.

I actually had two problems: (1) poor quality of sleep and (2) insufficient sleep.

What cured my problem was taking GBL (gamma butyrolactone). It produces deep, restful sleep. I weigh 170 #. I mix about 2ml of pure GBL with about an ounce of water and drink it just before bedtime. It tastes terrible, but puts me to sleep. And the quality of sleep is much better. I use it no more than 6 nights a week. It is not habit forming, is not addicting, has almost no toxicity, produces no hangover, has no adverse side effects that I know of. I have been using it for 6 months.

I don't even fall asleep during Sunday morning sermons any more.

YOU SHOULD NOT USE IT IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALCOHOL, TRANQUILIZERS, BARBITURATES, OR ANY OTHER SUBSTANCE WHICH PRODUCES A DEPRESSANT EFFECT ON THE MIND OR BODY. It will amplify the effects of those chemicals.

You can find an article about GBL written by Ward Dean, M.D. on the web page of Vitamin Research Products (www.vrp.com/). Put "GBL" into their search engine to locate the article which appeared in their newsletter.

I'll be glad to answer any questions that I can.

Harvey
