Nightmares when sleeping on back

Hello,

I am a 35 year old female, and for as long as I can remember I have had terrible nightmares every time I fall asleep on my back. I do not have any unusual stress or trauma in my life so I can't figure out why this could be happening. I have tried searching the net for info on this topic but can't find anything. Has anyone ever heard of this, and where can I learn more about this problem? Thank you!
