Vivid Metamorphosis

Last night, I had the most intense in-between-sleeping-and-awake dream ever. I dreamt that I was a huge, beautiful butterfly breaking out of a cocoon. I had to work to get out of this cocoon, and i pushed and pushed as hard as I could, until I finally burst free, and I heard this high-pitched ringing at all different intervals, while feeling like I had stuck my fingers in an electric socket. I felt like I was being ripped apart from all different directions. Bright lights reflected off of my wings, creating all these different colors, almost more color than I had ever seen before. I finally jolted awake and gasped for air...I must have jumped a foot into the air! It was both glorious and horrifying...this one of the few dreams that will stick with me forever. Has anyone ever experienced anything like this before?
