I just discovered my fiance doing something similar - he was masturbating in his sleep (though I thought he was awake.) When I talked to him about it the next day, he was shocked - he suggested I was dreaming, because he didn't remember anything.
So, I started doing research and discovered what doctors are now calling sexsomnia or "sleepsex" (a parasomnia much like sleepwalking.) There is a very helpful website by one of these doctors that answered alot of my questions - maybe it can help.
