You are the first person I have come across who experiences are virtualy identical to mine! I agree there is a rational part of me that knows everything is fine but cannot explain what is happening, or find a way to resolve it. I could be suffering anxiety but to be honest if this is the case these days I only ever feel it during sleep. Depression is behind me and I no longer consider it a problem. I sometimes fly out of bed in a panic that I am having a heart attack. I also feel my pulse and it is strong and fast though sometime slightly irregular. It usually happens after I have been asleep for a couple of hours but is terrifying and makes me nervous to go back to sleep. Hence I am tired all the time the following day. I think it is certainly a mental issue rather than physical as I am also generally in good health. Our brains seem to have got into a bad habit of panic. I am thinking of taking up yoga or meditation to learn how to calm myself. Any other solutions you have would be most welcome!
