Most people have a jerk from time to time when falling asleep. They are called hypnic jerks and unless they happen enough to make you sleepy the next day usually no treatment is necessary and they usually go away over time.
Hypnic jerks occur on the point of sleep when our brains, alarmed by the sensation of falling, send out our limbs to catch us.
Tingling along with body jerks could point to nocturnal seizures. Seizures are more common in deep sleep (slow wave sleep) than during wake or dreaming when the brain is active so not having the events during the day in light sleep points in that direction but definitely not conclusive.
So you need to see a sleep specialist who is a neurologist or works closely with one.
There are some other sleep disorders that can mimic this so you may need a sleep study.
Best wishes,
