Provigil and Birth Control

I am IH, and my doctor put me on Provigil, 200mg a day. I used to take Ritalin but it made me lose my appetite and I was kind of jittery and stuff. So I switched to Provigil, which seems to be working. But I knew that Provigil decreases the effectiveness of birth control, and that makes me nervous. I went to see my sleep specialist yesterday and I asked him about the reaction between Provigil and different types of birth control. I've been told that Provigil interferes with horomonal birth control, and lessens the effectiveness. He encouraged me to try different non-horomonal birth control methods. To most people, that means use a condom, but I have an allergy to latex so it's not the greatest idea.

I've heard about IUD's, but I have also been told that I might not be able to find a doctor who is willing to do this for me. I'm only 21, and I don't have any children so apparently most doctors don't want to do it for you. (I'm in my third year of college so I don't plan on having children until I'm out of school and settled in a career anyway.) I'm also a poor college student, and on my parents insurance, so I'm not sure if they would find out about it or not...

Is there anybody else here that is on Provigil and has the same problem as me? I would like to continue taking the birth control, but basically I want another method to use as well. I believe it would have to be non-horomonal... Do you guys have any suggestions or ideas for me?
