I have had chronic hypnogogic jerks for almost ten years now makeing it imposible for me to fall asleep without med's. I too thought this was going to kill me. most of the Docters I saw even, sleep specialists, had no idea what to do. After trying dozens of medications i have found that Remeron, a non addictive antidepressant to be effective. good luck
