There's no doubt that certain sleep disorders lead into awareness of the metaphysical. I once read in one of the "Seth" books by Jane Roberts that we have "probable selves," counterparts connected to the same oversoul that animates our bodies, and that there can be "bleed-throughs" in which our memories and awarness may be partially shared; all of which seems unscientific. But, modern quantum physics allows for parallel universes, alternate timelines and simultaneous multiple existence of objects. There's a lot that we don't know about the larger reality in which we live. Sometimes we have to accept certain things in our awarness and be content not to have a definitive explanation. What else CAN we do? Good luck.
