Wake up thinking you are dead?

I wake up almost every night thinking I'm dead. A lot of times I have a mini-panic attack, then I dig my thumb nail into my skin to see if it hurts. If my hands are numb sometimes I panic even more. But then I get over it and go right back to sleep. The entire incident probably last less than 30 seconds.

Does this happen to anyone else?
