Thanks so much for your response. Sorry in my delay - if you
don't mind me asking, how did they determine your brain stem
was injured?

I just had an MRI which came back as normal. That was the final
step in ruling out all chronic conditions and sleep disorders, so
my doctor has officially diagnosed me as having idiopathic
hypersomnia. I guess I don't really believe that my problem has
no cause and still think it's tied to my wreck somehow.

I hope you are doing well and that your problem doesn't
continue to decline!
