I am a 48 year old female. I have always been a relatively good sleeper. I use to take one tylonal pm at night and sleep till 8 or 8:30 am with the occasional wake up and turn over and go back to sleep thing. About a month ago I woke up around 1 am and tried to go back to sleep. Everytime I would feel myself start to relax and fall back to sleep i had this total adrenaline rush. It happened for hours. I really never went back to sleep. This happened for a week and the dr. finally put me on ambien cr, because I have no problem going to sleep i just do not stay asleep. I have been on it for 2 weeks now and tried not to take it last night and the adrenaline started up again!!! what is causing that? I am not a high strung person, and lead a very simple life. could it be hormones? i can't go through that another week. I felt horrible and ended up getting sick. I am afraid i may be having some side effects with the ambien cr. i don,t know what to do.
