Hi all,

New to this, but hope you can help.

I've been on Mirtazapine for the past couple of years - disrupted sleep due to depression. My depression is now under control and I've been trying to wean myself off Mirtazapine as I really don't like the idea of needing tablets to sleep. I've reduced my dose from 30mg per night to 15mg, have been taking the lower dose for the past year. However, if I try a night without any, my sleep is still really disrupted - waking up every hour, sweaty, etc. The result is that I don't feel at all rested and my day is pretty horrible. I've tried to go without it two nights in a row - I was knackered yesterday so thought I might sleep naturally if I didn't take one. But no luck.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience. My doctor says I really should just take it as and when I need it, but I seem to have to take it every night for a good night's sleep.

Any advice?

Thanks all.
