For as long as I can remember, I've made noises in my sleep. More specifically, when I'm starting to fall asleep or just getting into sleep, I'll make quick 'hm' noises every few seconds. It has woken me up several times and my sister hears it every night and it annoys her. She also says I talk in my sleep. I've never caught myself doing this, so it must be when I've already been asleep for a while. Is there an actual name for this type of behavior or is it a variation of something? Also, is there anything I can do to fix it?
Also, I tend to sleep a lot and still feel tired after I've slept. I know that this is my fault and I need to fix it, but I've been staying up late for several weeks now till about 4 or so in the morning (personal reasons) and I'll go to sleep, but not wake up till 2 in the afternoon. I know that 9 hours of sleep is optimal, but I sleep for way longer and still feel incredibly tired. I usually set alarms for myself (even on nights I get to bed at a reasonable time), but I still can't wake up on time. For example, I'll get to bed at around midnight and my alarm is at 9, but I shut it off when it goes off and sleep till 1 or 2 like normal. Is this just a lack of will to wake up thing or something else?
Thanks so much for any help!
