Sleeping during sex

Have you ever heard of instances where someone sleeps while having sex, especially sex that they initiate and have an active part in? This person, who claims to have done this on 4 separate occasions spanning three months, is also known to scream out in his sleep, chew lampshades, and even attacked his father on one occasion.

Any insight you might have would be very helpful, as this behavior is NOT conducive to exploring a romantic relationship.
