I think you need to have some sleep studies done. I have some of the same symptoms and have both apnea and (1 doctor says Narcolepsy the other says chronic fatigue syndrom). I would also search the internet for some of the specific symptoms you never know what you will find that contains some of your other symptoms. I too can stay awake when needed, but can not get out of bed in the morning whether 3 or 12 hrs of sleep. I fall asleep easily. I use to have insomnia before sleep apnea and now use a CPAP not much insomnia anymore. I wake up exhausted and feel that way all day. So far nothing for Narcolepsy has worked, but I am not presently willing to try Ritalin. The past month I have been on thyroid hormone replacement possible treatment for CFS but doesn't seem to work. I have done alot of research seems this maybe related to allergies.
Look under narcolepsy at the very first forum. Barbara Donnelly posted back in April about Allergies, Narcolepsy and her son, it is very interesting and might help.
Good luck
April
