Adriane -
You ask a very interesting question. Now I am not a Doctor, but I have a sleep disorder and I have talked to a bunch of people who have sleep disorders. (All on the hypersomnia side)
Everyone that I have talked to, that has a sleep disorder, has noticed that once they receive the appropriate treatment for their sleep disorder, any psychological problems they were having were decreased. In other words: Any psychological problems they were having, were due to coping with their sleep disorder.
If anyone felt sleepy 16 out of 24 hours a day, they would be depressed about it, too.
I have experienced excessive depression with my medication, if I do not take it at certain intervals.
I know this isn't the answer you were looking for, but I thought I would share my experiences anyway.
