Posted by Katherine on March 26, 2000 at 09:25:37:I was a pretty typical oversleeper. Not anymore. I've found a way to combat oversleeping. At night when I go to bed, I set my alarm (I usually get around 9 hours sleep) and put it inside a cricket cage. Then I lock the cage with a padlock. I put the key on top of my coffee machine, which is set to go at the same time as the alarm.
In the morning when the alarm rings, I walk over to the kitchen where the coffee machine is and pour myself some coffee. Then I walk back to the cage with the keys, unlock it and turn off the alarm. By that time, I am awake.
This scheme has worked for 9 days in a row. I am very happy about that and I wanted to share this with others in case it might be helpful for you too.
Katherine.
