Acting out Dreams
Posted by Dave on July 09, 2000 at 16:02:17:In the past couple of weeks I've been having these very vivid dreams - much more so than is typical for me. Last night I did something I've never done before and it kinda scares me so I'm posting here. I had this dream that my brother slapped me in the face for being too slow, and I jumped at him - it was blurry-ish. Well, I awoke to find I had my girlfriend's face in my left hand and was kinda shaking her head. As soon as I realized it was her I stopped, but it's still bothering me and I don't want to do it again. A week ago, I awoke kicking in my sleep - something else I don't do.
Something I find odd about last night however, is that I am right handed and would not typically grab someone with my left hand. Also, based on my positioning and my brothers positioning, in the dream, I would have sat straight up in bed and not reached over like I did. I don't see how I translated the dream imagery of lunging at my bro, to grabbing my girlfriend lying next to me.
Does anyone have any recommendations? I really don't want to punch her or anything - and I'm typically a very happy person, I don't think about fighting and I never fight with her.
