trouble awakening

Ever since my teenage years, I have had major problems waking up. My alarm will go off, I'll get up to walk across the room to its strategic location, turn it off and find myself right back in bed for another round. I find it incredibly difficult to wake unless my life depends on it. So many people have called me lazy that it makes me crazy. I would love to be a morning person, but no matter how much exercise I do or vitamins I take, it doesn't improve. What is wrong with me?
