Posted by Cyndi on July 14, 2000 at 09:39:46:They cant seem to find what is wrong? I have had a normal MRI, normal EEG and normal 24hr EEG and a sleep study is being arranged. My occurences happen nearly 3 nights of the week. Sometimes only a few...sometimes over a hundred episodes. As I go to fall asleep I feel like my brain is "flipping", or Flickering. I then jolt upright in which my left arm and left leg (primarily) seems to jump, sometimes my heart is racing, sometimes I then panic from the fear of it. At times my arms are numb, other times I even feel like bugs are crawling??? Sounds strange..I am a 39 year old woman with a 20 year history of high blood pressure, controlled with medication, and history of premenstrual depression. I take an antidepressant for the premenstral depression and high blood pressure meds. The episodes are nearly certain if I am tired. My neurologist suspected partial focal seizures, however my EEGs and MRI are normal. My ten year old son has 5 seizure disorders (epilepsy, also finally controlled with meds after four years of uncontrallable seizures). My father had a few febrile seizures as an infant and my brother is 42years old with Grand Mal seizures since age 11...he also is blind from birth with retina pigmentosa.
